Some slight adjustments… (1 update)

March 30th, 2007

…to this site.

  1. The little logo on top is completely new (and a lot closer to what I originally wanted it to look like, but still not quite there), and set in Maxine Script by Vic Fieger. I think I want it a little smoother still, but its quirky nature does reflect me well. (Plus, my handwriting is a lot worse.)
  2. The search field has moved underneath it (with apologies to Jesper for the inspiration), replacing description (which hadn’t been accurate for quite a while) and taglines (which hadn’t been updated much and started becoming lame).
  3. The sidebar and footer have been significantly simplified, the front page articles have been halved to five and the feed entries doubled to twenty.
  4. Also, some HTML5ization, also somewhat inspired by Jesper’s and amon’s recent moves, but more so by my own following of WHAT-WG from the very beginning.

Still find it too heavy, but that should gradually improve; more to come.

Update.

  1. The per-post view is now cleaned up quite a bit. Subtle improvements, but I’m liking them.
  2. I’ve updated the commenting rules a little. Hopefully, none of the harsh tone is actually necessary; I’m not trying to scare off people.
  3. I’m still unhappy with the header, the background and the sidebar.

Leave the country the same, but correct the continent, and end the sentence with a period instead.
