Via Tantek: Upcoming.org, whom I’ve never heard of before, has been acquired by Yahoo. It looks like Upcoming.org lets you store, tag and share events, anything from your daddy’s birthday to a conference you are going to be attending.
This could be very useful for me if only my life was more full of events than it is. Certainly, it would let me get rid of my current “Upcoming Events” section in my sidebar that’s now mostly empty anyway. I could put stuff like the next Mysterium / Mass Mysteria / etc. in. Or my return to Germany. Or, maybe more interestingly, upcoming events related to Apple. Etc.
(I wonder if Upcoming.org supports iCalendar?)Naturally, it does: this way, I can easily use iCal to subscribe to friends’ upcoming events. Or track events based on their geographical location. Hmm!
